Hideaway Beach Resort to launch exclusive seaplane service
Top service knows no bounds at Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa Maldives.
Who would not like to start their holiday with a dreamlike experience? With an exclusive seaplane rising from the water high into the air, your home in paradise is admired far above the turquoise, clear ocean.
This dream comes true from March 1, as Hideaway Beach Resort introduces a specially-chartered seaplane for guests to travel to the resort from Male.
At the main Velana International Airport, guests are greeted by a dedicated team and treated to an exquisite selection of drinks, canapés, pastries and free WiFi in the Hideaway VIP Lounge at the Trans Maldivian Airways Seaplane Terminal before being escorted to the Hideaway seaplane.
The 65-minute journey aboard the exclusive seaplane takes guests over turquoise waters and emerald-green lagoons. Apart from the faster arrival, it is an unforgettable experience. As guests begin their holiday with this paradisiac sight, their everyday stress and worries escape into thin air.
Operated by Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA), this luxurious and faster trip to Hideaway Beach Resort costs about USD 600 (roundtrip), or if you have already booked a domestic transfer and decided to upgrade, a USD 120 supplemental charge applies per person (one way). Children under the age of two years are included in the rate.
Thanks to this new charter flight, guests save themselves the journey to Hanimaadhoo and the onward journey by speedboat, whilst being treated to a holiday of a very special kind.
Located in the northernmost Haa Alif atoll, Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa is accessible by a 50-minute domestic flight followed by a 15-minute speedboat ride.
The five-star resort offers guests the luxury of space and privacy across 297,000 square metres. The 103 luxury villas fall into eight categories ranging from beachfront to over-water. Each villa has been carefully positioned to offer peace, comfort and privacy to guests.
Home to the first fully-functional marina in the Maldives, due to its unique reef system, Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa boasts an enviable dive spot close by. The resort offers an extensive programme of wellness and sporting experiences, vast culinary offering, and one of the largest spas in the Maldives.

Milaidhoo Maldives celebrates International Men’s Day with ‘Gentlemen & Cocktails’
Milaidhoo Maldives will mark International Men’s Day with a cocktail-making competition for male guests, as the resort celebrates its tenth anniversary this November.
The occasion will also recognise the contributions of the men involved in the resort’s development and operations over the past decade. Since its establishment, Milaidhoo has maintained a focus on Maldivian hospitality and cultural traditions, with its original vision continuing to influence the guest experience.
As part of the celebrations, the resort will host Gentlemen & Cocktails, an interactive cocktail-making challenge at Compass Pool Bar.
The event will begin with a workshop led by the bar’s bartenders, who will introduce participants to the fundamentals of cocktail preparation. Following the workshop, participants will compete to create their own signature cocktails using a selection of ingredients.
Each participant will receive a black box containing secret ingredients, which must be incorporated into their creation. They will also be required to select an additional herb, vegetable or aromatic ingredient from the resort’s Chef’s Garden.
Participants will have a limited amount of time to prepare their cocktails, with their partners serving as judges. The creations will be assessed based on flavour, presentation and originality.
The winning cocktail will be featured as the Cocktail of the Day at Compass Pool Bar for one week. The winning couple will also be entitled to unlimited servings of their creation for the remainder of their stay.
The International Men’s Day celebrations form part of Milaidhoo Maldives’ tenth anniversary year, recognising the people who have contributed to the resort’s development and its approach to hospitality.
Through the cocktail-making competition, the resort aims to provide guests with an interactive experience while commemorating International Men’s Day.
