Atmosphere Hotels expands top management team, appoints new revenue distribution head

Indian Ocean based hospitality group Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts has announced the expansion of its corporate sales team with the appointment of two new professionals and industry experts.

The announcement follows the group’s ambitious expansion over the coming years. With several new properties being added to the existing four-property portfolio, the expansion of the sales team at the corporate level will elevate and support the plans ahead.

Anjelo Perera has recently joined Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts as Vice President of Revenue & Distribution to further develop the profitability and the international exposure of the company, strengthening its distribution with new initiatives.

The Sri Lankan-born, highly motivated e-commerce professional moved into this role with over eight years of experience in online distribution, revenue management and digital marketing.

Prior to joining Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, he was leading eBusiness development at Aitken Spence Hotels, overseeing operations in Maldives, Sri Lanka, Oman & India as Assistant General Manager.

Meanwhile, Simmi Satyeash Pai has been appointed Vice President of Sales and Director of Sales & Marketing for OZEN by Atmosphere, Maldives – the flagship Luxury Resort of the group.

She brings more than 14 years of experience within the destination in sales and marketing. In her new role, she will be responsible for all sales efforts for the group, with a focus on pushing sales and marketing activities for OZEN by Atmosphere to a broader level in the global luxury travel market.

Prior to joining Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, she was the Director of Sales & Marketing of Fairmont Maldives at Sirru Fen Fushi.

“With Simmi’s strong industry experience and Anjelo’s expertise in revenue and eBusiness, we are confident we will elevate our international sales, pricing & distribution strategies to the next level,” Stephane Laguette, Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing of Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, was quoted in a statement, as saying.

“I am confident that together with our entire sales & marketing team, we can explore exciting new opportunities that will assist us in achieving our ambitious revenue targets.”

Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts is a dynamic and fast-growing Indian Ocean Hotels & Resorts group currently based in the Maldives.

Atmosphere’s first property, Atmosphere Kanifushi, opened its doors in December 2013. The group opened its second property, OBLU by Atmosphere at Helengeli, in November 2015; followed by their flagship lifestyle luxury sub-brand, OZEN by Atmosphere, in July 2016; and then OBLU Select at Sangeli, which opened in July 2018. The newest addition to the portfolio, VARU by Atmosphere, offering a naturally Maldivian experience, is due to open in late 2019.
