Baros Maldives appoints Gabriël le Roux as the Executive Chef

Maldives Promotion House – A new Executive Chef has joined the award-winning resort, Baros Maldives, in time for the forthcoming holiday and festive season.

Gabriël le Roux hails from South Africa where he began his culinary journey back in 1995 as a trainee Chef in a fine dining restaurant in Cape Town and since then he has expanded his career on numerous locations in Asia, Europe and Africa. He progressed to working in some of the finest addresses such as the 1* Michelin awarded Le Petit Blanc in Cheltenham UK as an Executive Chef or Taj Palace in New Delhi as Chef de Cuisine. He then continued his journey in Diaz Beach and Hotel Resort, Mossel Bay as a Group Executive Chef in Paranga Group, Cape Town before moving to Frégate Island Private, Seychelles in 2011.

As Executive Chef at Baros Maldives, Gabriël le Roux is responsible for three gourmet standard restaurants, including The Lighthouse Restaurant, recognised as one of the best in the Maldives.

As the newest member of the Baros Maldives family, Chef Gabriël aims to build on the 40 years of hospitality excellence that has become the hallmark of the resort.
