SPA Cenvaree at Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa Maldives, and The Spa by Thalgo at The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi have been named the best Luxury Resort Spa in Indian Ocean.

At the gala ceremony of World Luxury Spa Awards, which took place at the JW Marriott Hanoi hotel in Vietnam on July 22, The Spa by Thalgo at The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi received the continental award for the best Luxury Resort Spa in Indian Ocean, while the SPA Cenvaree at Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa Maldives was awarded the regional title in the same category.

Meanwhile, the U Spa by Constance at Constance Halaveli Maldives won the country title in the Luxury Resort Spa category.

In addition to the entire island being a sanctuary of natural beauty, The Spa by Thalgo at The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is an open immersion in organic earth and vibrant sea, the elements from which Ayurveda draws its centuries-old healing power.

The Spa by Thalgo has perfected this ancient holistic tradition, blending its timeless wisdom with contemporary practices found both East and West. A resident Ayurvedic Doctor guides guests on their own personalised journeys to wellness both during their stay and beyond, while expert practitioners in traditional massage, authentic Maldivian-inspired rituals and world-renowned wellness practices combine finely honed knowledge with a naturally healing touch.

All this takes place in a setting that mirrors the natural splendour of the island. Wood, stone, water and light — all the fundamental elements of the earth — come together in perfect harmony in the design of the spa’s 20 treatment rooms, which are complemented by hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms and saunas. Additionally, dedicated relaxation areas are designed as natural sanctuaries, allowing guests to take a moment before emerging renewed.

Embracing the natural beauty of a Maldivian island, the SPA Cenvaree at Centara Ras Fushi adopts the philosophy of growth, rejuvenation and Mother Nature. Right from the start, guests are welcomed by the gentle sound of ocean breeze and the aroma of exotic fragrances set within the beautiful surroundings to revitalise all those who visit.

The spa has been carefully laid out as Healing Huts, and dubbed as a place for pampering, rejuvenation and relaxation. Each healing hut is situated amidst tropical landscaped paradise and guests can luxuriate in private outdoor balconies overlooking the ocean.

There are suites for singles and couples, treatment rooms with Jacuzzi, a distinctive pavilion dedicated to Thai massage, a beautifully appointed relaxation pavilion looking out onto the beach and lagoon that is perfect for early morning Yoga sessions, and a manicure and pedicure salon.

Treatments inspired by Thailand’s well-being heritage and modern rejuvenation practices along with couple spa journeys are available, with three-day Ayurvedic programmes a speciality.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa Maldives is an adults-only resort, with no one under the age of 12 years accommodated on the island. Located just 20 minutes by speedboat from the main Velana International Airport, the resort has 140 villas. Flexibility in dining plans is provided with the choice of half-board plus or all-inclusive programmes.

Sun Siyam Iru Veli marked Halloween with a one-day island celebration, “Whimsy Over Wicked,” reimagining the tradition of fright as a fairytale of fantasy on 31 October. The programme invited guests of all ages to immerse themselves in themed workshops, entertainment, and dining experiences designed to encourage creativity and the joy of make-believe.

At the Turtle Kidz Club, children joined a full-house Pumpkin Workshop, decorating pumpkins with gemstones, bright colours, and playful patterns. As the sun set over Fresh Water Beach, the festivities shifted to a Masquerade Evening, where guests enjoyed island beats and signature cocktails and mocktails against a golden horizon. The celebration continued at Turtle Beach with a Beach BBQ Dinner, presenting a Halloween-inspired menu in a storybook setting with live music by the sea.

The night concluded with a private “Cinema Under the Stars” screening, offering an open-air experience that captured the spirit of the occasion.

Through “Whimsy Over Wicked,” Sun Siyam Iru Veli highlighted creativity, connection, and the island’s natural setting. Guests departed with memories shaped by laughter, imagination, and a shared celebration under the Maldivian night sky.
