‘All children have the right to a quality education’, Starwood Hotels Maldives

Maldives Promotion House – 2012 sees Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa and W Retreat & Spa – Maldives as committed as ever to the well-being of children in its region – by supporting the UNICEF Check out for Children program.

At every check out, on every day of the year, Sheraton Maldives and W Maldives has invited guests to make a very small, but meaningful, contribution to help children in need. When the guest agrees, USD 1 is automatically added to their bill and donated to UNICEF to support important education programs.

Now, by visiting www.unicef.org.au/spg anyone can donate to the Check out for Children program – and make a lasting impact to the lives of children in need.

The impact of a guest’s USD 1 donation is tremendous. USD 1 can buy a notebook and a pencil for a student, enabling child to read and write. An educated child will have hope for a better future – and help break the cycle of poverty.

Today, 72 million children did not get the opportunity to go to school. Sheraton Maldives and W Maldives participation of the Check out for Children dollar helps to reduce this alarming figure. USD 1 by USD 1 – Sheraton Maldives and W Maldives is committed to giving children the best chance to survive and thrive into adulthood.

Money raised by the Check Out for Children program strengthens UNICEF’s education programs in the Asia Pacific region. Funds raised help build and improve school facilities, provide quality teacher training in impoverished areas, provide essential school supplies, help children return to schools after emergencies with ‘School-in-a-box’ kits, provide teaching programs for ethnic minority areas and awareness of gender and health issues in schools.
