Held at The Leela Palace New Delhi, India, the awards recognise the ‘world’s best’ in a variety of categories and are regarded as the sub-continent’s most prestigious travel accolades.
Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa received an overall total of 94.50 out of 100, including 95.56 points out of 100 for its child-friendliness, and 96.87 for its standard of comfort. The award comes just three months after Kuda Huraa scooped the prestigious ‘Best of the Best’ Award and ‘Best Overseas Leisure Hotel in the Middle East, Africa & Indian Ocean’ at the Condé Nast Traveller UK Readers’ Travel Awards 2011.
“This marks a great end to the team’s most successful year to date. I’d like to thank every single member for their hard work and passion, and also our Indian guests for recognising that hard work with their votes. We’re gearing up for an incredible 2012 and are looking forward to raising the bar even higher,” commenting on the Resort’s achievement, General Manager Sanjiv Hulugalle said.
Of the 350 employees at Kuda Huraa, 193 are Maldivian nationals; they also have 16 new students who have joined the Class of 2012 of the Four Seasons Resorts Maldives Apprenticeship Programme. The program is a vocational training scheme for young Maldivians and the first TVET-certified hospitality programme in the country.
