Soneva Fushi launches BFF Package for ultimate Maldivian girls’ trip

Published

on

Soneva Fushi has announced its new BFF Package, launched in honour of the International Day of Friendship, which was marked on July 30.

The package runs from now until July 31, 2020 and has been specially made for holidays away with the girls, all surrounded by the natural wonder of the Baa Atoll UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Soneva is positioning the Maldives as a short break destination ideal for bridal and hen parties, reunions, birthdays and girls’ trips.

The package starts at USD 4,880 net per guest for three nights and is valid for all of Soneva Fushi’s villa categories, which range from one to nine-bedroom beachfront villas.

The BFF Package includes accommodation with daily Full Board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at select resort restaurants and In-Villa Dining, house brand alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day at all outlets (including In-Villa Dining).

Arrive in true Maldivian style after getting a bird’s eye view of the island nation’s islands and atolls with return seaplane transfers. The package includes four unique Soneva experiences for guests to reconnect and bond over, away from their usual day-to-day lives.

The experiences in the package have been chosen for being fun activities that are sure to create lifelong memories. It includes three 60-minute yoga classes suited to beginners or to help deepen one’s practice. One Sunset Dolphin Cruise with canapés and Champagne, where guests will cruise out into the Indian Ocean to spot pods of dolphins playing in the setting sun. Learn how to make your favourite cocktails or try to master something new with one Cocktail Class, guided by a mixologist. Guests will also enjoy one Astronomical Dinner Cruise on the yacht Soneva in Aqua. Sail out into the waters of the Baa atoll for a night beneath the stars, accompanied by dinner. Explore the night skies with the resident Astronomer as they point out constellations, planets and more, telling tales of how in the past people used the stars to plan agriculture, navigate and teach life lessons.

In addition to the experiences, the package also includes complimentary in-villa mini bar, with replenishment once a day, daily laundry service, and selected joint excursions and activities. Soneva Fushi’s complimentary chocolate room and ice cream parlour add an indulgently sweet addition to any girl’s holiday.

World-leading luxury resort operator Soneva runs two resorts in the Maldives, Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani.

In 1995, the award-winning luxury resort Soneva Fushi set the standard for all desert island barefoot luxury hideaways in the Maldives. Located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Soneva Fushi pairs Robinson Crusoe fantasy with intelligent luxury.

Sixty-two private villas with their own stretch of beach are hidden among dense foliage within touching distance of a pristine coral reef. Intuitive service is provided by Mr./Ms. Friday butlers.

Highlights include the open-air Cinema Paradiso, counting Saturn’s rings in the high-tech Observatory, the home-made chocolate and ice cream rooms, five hundred wines to choose from, six different restaurants and countless destination dining options. In November 2015, Soneva launched a floating villa concept, Soneva in Aqua, a treasure trove children’s Den and a multi-purpose facility encompasses a glass gallery, boutique and studio where guests can learn the art of glass blowing.

If the experiences are magical, the philosophy is simple: No news, no shoes. No pretensions either.

The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort celebrates sustainability efforts with Earth Hour

Published

The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, nestled in the breathtaking Baa Atoll, the first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve site in the Maldives, participated in Earth Hour, a global initiative led by the Worldwide Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) to combat climate change.

On the 23rd of March, from 8:30 to 9:30 PM, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort dimmed non-essential lighting in public spaces, symbolizing its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. Guests were encouraged to join this meaningful gesture by turning off lights in their guestrooms. During this period, all guests were invited to join for a captivating acoustic performance at Sunset Beach, where they indulged in specially crafted drinks tailored for this memorable occasion, complemented by candlelight ambiance.

In addition to its Earth Hour observance, the resort hosted a tree-planting event from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, where guests and associates alike came together to plant trees in designated areas surrounding the resort. This initiative not only contributed to carbon offsetting efforts but also enhanced the natural beauty of the Baa Atoll, enriching the local ecosystem for generations to come.

Beyond Earth Hour, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort remains steadfast in its dedication to preserving the pristine natural beauty of the Maldives through the establishment of a dedicated Sustainability Committee. This committee serves as the driving force behind initiatives aimed at fostering sustainability through initiatives such as water conservation, organic waste repurposing and renewable energy utilization – thus ensuring sustainability remains deeply ingrained in the resort’s operations and ethos.
