Cocoon Maldives hosts gourmet event with Italian Chef Paolo Pettenuzzo

Cocoon Maldives is hosting a series of special dining events with Italian Chef Paolo Pettenuzzo.

As part of Cocoon’s Gourmet Weekend series of visiting chef programme, Chef Paolo is showcasing his skills to the resort’s guests from August 12-26.

Born in the Italian municipality of San Martino di Lupari, Paolo grew up in between fashion trends, marketing strategies and business. His father, a clothing manufacturer, instilled in him a passion for good food and travelling, giving him the chance to try something different in a different place everyday.

After launching a well-known club in Venice, Paolo worked as the Food and Beverage Manager and Head Chef in a three-star hotel in the Italian city of Treviso. He is currently the Head Chef and Representative for Grand Cuisine by Electrolux Professional, a line of ultra luxury kitchen appliances.

Cocoon Maldives kicked off its Gourmet Weekend series in February with renowned Italian Chef Simone Zambon. The resort has since hosted Michelin-starred Chef Matteo Vigotti, Chef Davide Steffenini and Chef Yoriko Tsuruda from Japan.

Similar events are set to take place throughout the year, with celebrity chefs from around the world participating in this series, headed by the resort’s Executive Chef Giovanni De Ambrosis.

Cocoon Maldives, located in Ookolhufinolhu Island in the northern Lhaviyani atoll, blends the best of Italian design with the Maldives’ stunning natural beauty. The five-star resort, which officially opened in March, houses 150 villas that are exclusively designed by Lago, one of Italy’s finest design firms.

The resort, accessible by a 40-minute scenic seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport, features three restaurants and two bars offering a variety of cuisines from around the world and romantic dining experiences.

The Cube Spa at Cocoon Maldives, meanwhile, is located in the heart of the island to ensure maximum privacy and intimacy, and offers variety of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments with qualified masseurs from Bali.
