Conrad Maldives to provide internship opportunities to children at orphanage

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has partnered with the government to provide internship opportunities to children at the country’s main orphanage.

At a ceremony held at Conrad Maldives’ Ithaa Undersea Restaurant last week, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the resort’s General Manager Stefano A. Ruzza and gender ministry’s Programme Manager Jalaa Zuhuree.

As part of the partnership, children aged 16-18 at the Children’s House orphanage will have the opportunity to complete a year-long internship at Conrad Maldives. It will enable them to further pursue a career in hospitality and tourism — the mainstay of Maldivian economy.

“It’s our aim to provide knowledge and training to the children under our care, so that they’ll have the necessary skills to pursue employment opportunities in the future,” gender minister Zeneesha Shaheed Zaki said, at the ceremony.

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is located in South Ari Atoll and is accessible by a 30-minute seaplane flight from the Maldives main airport.
