St. Regis Maldives hosts October wellness programme with visiting consultant Khun Sommai

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is hosting renowned wellness consultant Khun Sommai for a special wellness programme this October.

During the month-long programme at Iridium Spa and Yoga Studio, Khun Sommai will be performing ancient Asian therapies, from Tibetan singing bowls to Chinese fire cupping. Relieve muscle tensions and blocked energies through Tok Sen massage from Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The programme includes:

  • Tibetan Singing Bowl: The tradition of singing bowls date back to the 8th century Tibet. The sounds produced by the bowls coupled with its vibration invokes a deep state of relaxation aiding in stress reduction, chakra balancing and holistic healing.
  • Chinese Fire Cupping Massage: This massage uses a combination of the Chinese fire cupping and slimming massage techniques to reduce the appearance of cellulite and tightens and tones muscles. The massage is completed with a gentle and relaxing scalp massage.
  • Tok Sen Massage: Tok Sen massage is an ancient Thai technique which uses special wooden instruments to ease away tension and clear blocked energy by tapping in rhythmic motions. The sounds and vibrations created by the tapping motion assist with relaxation.
  • Deep Tissue Massage: Deep tissue massage utilises various techniques using the fingers, elbows and forearms to promote wellbeing and aids the healing process. This massage works the superficial and deeper layers of the muscles and connective tissues.

A 60-minute therapy costs USD 200, while a 90-minute therapy is priced at USD 260. The rates are subject to 12 percent GST and 10 percent service charge.

Khun Sommai has visited several well-known spas all over the world and is a passionate holistic therapist. His expertise includes Tibetan singing bowls healing, chakra balancing with crystals, as well as qi gong and yoga.

Additionally, guests can also enjoy the Iridium Spa, which presents six overwater treatment rooms, including two that are dedicated to healing Ayurvedic treatments. Spa guests can also enjoy a Blue Hole pool, which contains heated seawater with different water jets – a system with proven benefits to the body.
