Biosphere Expeditions offers chance to win reef conservation trip to Maldives
Biosphere Expeditions in partnership with Reef Check and the Marine Conservation Society is offering a free place on one of its coral reef conservation trips to either Oman, Malaysia or the Maldives.
To win, all you have to do is submit a short essay or a video about why you want to help conserve our oceans.
Dr Matthias Hammer, Executive Director of Biosphere Expeditions, said: “Our competition is not a talent show event where you need to sing, dance, dress up or otherwise make a fool out of yourself. We would like to get to know you as much as possible, so just be yourself and show us how committed to ocean conservation you are!”
Biosphere Expeditions is an award-winning, non-profit organisation offering hands-on conservation expeditions around the world, while Reef Check, which has headquarters in Los Angeles and volunteer teams in more than 90 countries and territories, works to protect tropical coral reefs and California rocky reefs through education, research and conservation. The Marine Conservation Society (MCS), meanwhile, describes itself as the voice for everyone who loves the sea, and works to secure a future for our living seas and to save our threatened marine wildlife before it is lost forever.
Biosphere Expeditions offers a marine research expedition to the Maldives, which is designed to provide the opportunity for volunteers to help marine biologists study and protect the Maldives’ spectacular coral reefs and resident whale shark population.
Known internationally as one of the world’s best scuba diving destinations, the Maldives has an abundance of dive sites with one thrilling dive opportunity after another. The islands of the Maldives have consistently warm waters with outstanding visibility throughout the year, and consist of exhilarating dive sites such as vibrant thilas, exciting channels, coral-filled overhangs and fascinating wrecks.
