Komandoo Maldives Resort welcomes new Executive Chef Warren Moore

Komandoo Maldives Resort  has welcomed Warren Moore as the resort’s new Executive Chef.

At the age of 18, Warren left his native Johannesburg for the States, where his initial plan to work in construction in the snow-capped resorts in Montana was soon overridden by his newly found passion – cooking. Warren’s creativity and experience propelled and it wasn’t long before he was showcasing his culinary creations at several well-established properties at some spectaular locations, including London (Surrey Mint Arms), Botswana, (Ngoma, Chibe National Park), Mozambique (Indigo Bay Resort and Spa) and Tanzania (Arusha Lodge). Warren’s especially proud of having worked alongside Garth Stroebel, one of South Africa’s most eminent chefs and trendsetters in the country’s modern cuisine.

Warren’s talents didn’t go unnoticed – in his 3 years of overseeing the kitchen at the elite Royal Malewane in Kruger National Park, he had the privilege to put his heart onto the plates of Elton John, Justin Bieber, James Blunt, Richard Gere and Warren’s all-time favourite guest Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, among many others.

Warren’s only been with the resort for a few months, yet he’s already gotten Komandoo guests’ taste buds rocking! We look forward to seeing more of Warren’s creations in both Falhu and Aqua Restaurants and again, wish him an incredible and creativity-filled time on the island.
